“Chinese Mine Warfare -- A PLA Navy ‘Assassin’s Mace’ Capability”

“Chinese Mine Warfare -- A PLA Navy ‘Assassin’s Mace’ Capability” by Andrew S. Erickson, Lyle J. Goldstein, and William S. Murray has been published by the US Naval War College’s China Maritime Studies

http://www.nwc.navy.mil/cnws/cmsi/documents/CMS3_Mine%20Warfare.pdf

Mine Warfare is an area of great interest by the PLAN and yet it has been overlooked by many analysts, hopefully this paper will shed new light on the PLAN’s capabilities and intentions. This is the most comprehensive study available on the topic, and is a highly recommended read.

You know these guys do great work, right?

These guys are nut cases that spend their entire lifetime researching about China's so called military threat and whipping up the "China threat". The problem is that the "real" threat to the USA is actually from just over the border in Mexico. With the number of Mexican illegals crossing over on a daily basis it won't be long before the USA becomes a colony of Mexico. In 20yrs time these guys will probably be having Taco's for breakfast, changing their names to "Fidel" and saying "adios" to their mates.

I really don't know how to response to that, but if you read their work, you should know that those gents never called China a "threat"

These fellas are actually neo-conservatives in the same mould as Richard Fisher who publishes for the International Assessment and Strategy Research centre. They claim that China poses a huge threat despite the USA having huge naval superiority. Eg 12 carrier battle groups, 50+ Aegis cruisers and the same number of Virginia & LA class submarines. Oh....and I forgot.....there will also be a lot of Black people as well as Asians in the US in 20 yrs time.
